A quieter kind of raid is being tried on China's ARC Raiders test servers, and it changes the mood right away. Instead of dropping into Dam Battleground with every stranger treated as a possible threat, players begin on the same side. That makes looting, learning routes, and chasing ARC Raiders BluePrints feel less like a coin toss and more like a planned run, at least until someone decides to turn on the room.
What the Rebellion Incident changes
The new test mode is called Rebellion Incident, and its main trick is simple: PvP damage is switched off by default. You can shoot at another raider, sure, but nothing happens unless you've chosen to defect. That choice isn't hidden either. Once a player triggers the mutiny option, the whole lobby is told. The betrayer gets marked in red on the compass and map, so there's no quiet backstabbing from a dark corner. It's less paranoia, more public manhunt.
Why players are watching this test
  • New players can move through the map without being farmed by veterans in the first few minutes.
  • PvE-focused squads get a version of ARC Raiders that leans harder into machines, bosses, and extraction pressure.
  • Rogue players still have a choice, but that choice now carries a loud warning label.
  • Higher loot density gives the mode a softer landing for players who are still learning spawns and exits.
You can see why this has caused chatter. ARC Raiders built much of its reputation on messy human behaviour. Someone waves, someone hesitates, someone fires first. The Chinese beta doesn't remove that drama completely, but it puts a switch in front of it. That's a big difference, because tension now comes from the moment a player chooses betrayal, not from every single footstep nearby.
The Two Queens raises the PvE ceiling
The second test condition, The Two Queens, stops the mode from feeling too cosy. Dropping the Queen and the Matriarch into the same match gives squads a real problem to solve. You'll need ammo, space, timing, and probably a bit of luck. It's a smart trade: less fear of human hunters, more pressure from the world itself.
A split between regions

This is also a reminder that live-service games don't always grow in one straight line. The global version of ARC Raiders still sells the harsher fantasy: unstable alliances, sudden gunfire, and that ugly little doubt when another squad walks into view. China's licensed build seems to be testing a different door into the same game. For players who prefer planning loadouts, chasing upgrades, or checking markets such as buy ARC Raiders Station before a run, this softer PvP structure may make the first dozen hours far less punishing while still leaving room for danger.
