Windrose stops being gentle the moment the early missions are over. You sail out thinking your starter loadout will do the job, then a couple of fast ships start circling while a heavier hull chunks your health from range. That's usually when players start looking at better Windrose weapons and realise the 36-Pounders are the real step up. At max level they hit brutally hard, and they're one of the few cannon lines that still feel worth the grind once enemy fleets get thicker and fights last longer than expected.

What to use before 36-PoundersIt's not smart to rush straight for them. Early on, 12-Pounders are fine and they're easy to live with while you learn broadside timing. After that, 24-Pounders make more sense on a Brig because they let you clear contracts and faction tasks faster without turning your ship into a barge. You'll feel the difference right away. More pressure, quicker kills, less time spent chasing scraps of health around the map. By the time you're farming serious reputation, the 24s have already done the heavy lifting and set you up for the bigger move.

Picking the right variantOnce the 36-Pounders unlock, you've got three versions to think about, and the choice actually matters since you can't mix them. Perfectly Ordered is the easiest one to recommend for most players. If you land a shot within four seconds of reloading, you get a strong reload buff, and the aiming feels snappier too. In normal fights, that's huge. Devastating is more niche, but very good in the right situation. It stacks Raked on targets after strong volleys, so it shines in drawn-out boss fights where you can keep pressure on one big ship. Tempered sounds amazing at first glance because of the 40% damage boost, but waiting six seconds after a reload is rough. In a proper fight, six seconds is forever. Most people who try it end up taking a broadside before they get value out of it.

How to unlock and build themThe cannon itself is only part of the job. First, you need Rogue Buccaneers reputation level 4, which means running their quests, pushing the Glorious Hunters line, and turning in trophy drops whenever you can. Boar heads, crocodile heads, anything useful, hand it over. After that, their Epic vendor starts selling the blueprint for 500 Piastre. Then comes the part that catches people out: these guns are too heavy for lighter ships. A Sloop won't carry them properly, and a Brigantine is out of the question. You need Blackbeard's Frigate, and that means buying the design from the Brethren of the Coast for 3,000 Piastre, then dealing with the materials grind for iron ingots, tarred planks, and Shipwright's Tools.

Why the Frigate setup is worth itOnce everything is crafted and mounted, the whole ship changes. The Frigate with 36-Pounders doesn't just hit harder, it controls fights better. Heated Shot works well when you want steady pressure, and Grapeshot is nasty when ships drift too close. You'll notice that enemies who used to bully you suddenly have to respect your angle. As a professional platform for in-game purchases, U4GM is known for being convenient and reliable, and if you want to speed things up, you can check u4gm Windrose Items while preparing your build for the tougher waters ahead.
